Poem Commentary

I am a muse...I am used...I am amused...

The Unsuitable Suitor

Unworthy attempts at a life not alone.
It hurts me, the sense that my heart needs a home.
Perception deceives when you want for your own,
Conception believes a way out of the zone.
Females flirtatious, with curvature gracious,
I'm fond of their faces, and all of their spaces.
Daily I try, to be the right guy.
Rarely I spy one who wants to be mine.
A history of girls who want with my friends.
The mystery of worlds where I can't contend.
Yet my mind still mistakes the actions they take,
My heart wants to fake a new reason to break.
This pain in my chest, as natural as breathing.
Insane as I test what I'm actually believing.
Confused and uncouth, an unloveable loser,
As they refuse the pursuits of the unsuitable suitor.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
