The Silence of the Secret Heart

I’m seeking the answer for the secret that I hold
Because I long since forgotten the words I was told
I took them lightly, I let them fall
Missed the point, and climbed that wall
Now I’m paying my mistakes inside my head
Keeping the words from ever being said
To drag me down to the bottom of hell
I’m to you, for I have fell
The demons speak but awake they cannot be
Yelling so loud they need me
His eyes bring me back, to my safe place
Just stare at his beautiful face
Peace settles over me and I can breathe again
I am at ease once I hold him
This answer I’m seeking lies beneath his eyes
So much beauty shines, I want to cry
He makes my heart race but stop at the same time
Every time I see him I’m glad that he’s mine
I’m afraid of the answer to the secret that I bear
But now I’m wondering if it’s even out there

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.
