    The Lie that Ended Quickly

A thousand times before I’ve seen this lie
In the dead of night creeping to me I know not why
It screams to me his ugly hate
I hate my mine, for this it creates
They’re different each time but still I weep
From him this is no secret I keep
They end so quickly, my sleep ends fast
My eyes are wet, his sleeping lasts
Not for long he opens his eyes
I tell him again why he heard my cries
It’s just a dream he whispers to me
But why I ask is it all I see
He holds me tight as my eyes close again
To God I ask let me keep him
The dream is forgotten but I know it’s still there
To scream to me that he doesn’t care
To take his love and throw it away
Show itself each and every day
Through my mind it run, it will come back
To give me again a brutal attack
A thousand times before I’ve seen this lie
Dead silent, creeping to me, I don’t know why
The time has come the mind has said
Bring this demon to my head
Twist it evil, make me cry
Hide the answer I will never know why
It ended to quickly, my sleep ended fast
I wonder how long his sleeping will last?

Awesome use of dream into a questioning, reallity. God is a keeper of what we think. But writting, there are many styles. And you have a God given talent.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
