    The Right Choice

In an old broken down church
I stand at the end of a long aisle
I see him waiting at the other end
He's everything I've ever dreamed of
    He makes me laugh
He's always the shoulder I cry on
He tries to understand, support, and love me
I know I'm making the right choice

    Butterflies soar in my stomach
A giant smile upon my face
    Music begins to sound
A nod from my dad is the signal
I take my first step towards the one
    Right...together...left...together...right...together
Everyone in their pews looking at me
Reaching the alter, the preacher asks, "Who gives this woman away?"
And my parents both speak, "We do"
    I gaze into your eyes
I know I'm making the right choice

We face each other, holding hands
    The preacher begins the service
    "Do you take this man?"
    "Do you take this woman?"
I place a silver ring on his left ring finger
"I vow to love, honor, and obey"
    I promise to love him
    Always and forever
    Until death do us part
We turn and face our family and friends
Finally about to begin our lives as one
"I now pronounce you man and wife"
He lifts my veil and leans in to kiss me
I know I'm making the right choice

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
