Enlightenment
The dark house held me captive
There was but one escape
By taking this door it meant certain death
Of ignorance
Of naivete
At first my steps were small and hesitant
The fraudulent clouds blocked your wisdom
Forcefully you shoved them aside
The blaze of you blinded my sheltered eyes
Your intensity burned my skin
Mystified me
As soon as my eyes adjusted
There you were
With you infinite
Knowledge
Insight
You guided me into the world
Teaching me how to survive
You showed me how to view the world
And told me how to survive in this desolate waste land
You taught me to stand and speak my own words
Thoughts
Opinions
Dreams
As you start to fade out of my life
Remember this
You can inspire
You will influence
And you should always dream
There was but one escape
By taking this door it meant certain death
Of ignorance
Of naivete
At first my steps were small and hesitant
The fraudulent clouds blocked your wisdom
Forcefully you shoved them aside
The blaze of you blinded my sheltered eyes
Your intensity burned my skin
Mystified me
As soon as my eyes adjusted
There you were
With you infinite
Knowledge
Insight
You guided me into the world
Teaching me how to survive
You showed me how to view the world
And told me how to survive in this desolate waste land
You taught me to stand and speak my own words
Thoughts
Opinions
Dreams
As you start to fade out of my life
Remember this
You can inspire
You will influence
And you should always dream
