The Rainbow

The Rainbow

Every time I see a rainbow I feel loved
Because I know that God has sent it from above
On a cold rainy day when we are all blown away
In the middle of a shower it could be at any hour
We just get a bit of sun and it covers every one
Then the sky fills with light and it shines so very bright
The colours are a joy one for every girl and boy
No one can  express the joy and happiness
What a beauty to behold each colour thrills my soul
I'm still getting wet but the rainbow is there yet
And even when it fades as it goes into the shade
The memory of it all every colour we recall
There may not be a lot but gods gift is forever true
He said it would be his sign of love for me and you
All the colours of the earth came fom the rainbow birth
so give thanks each day as we walk along life's way

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
