My Little bit of Ireland
I live in a part of Ireland
That's as pretty as the rest
A little town called Belfast
Where my life is truly blest
Brought up in a christian home
As I walk with God
I know I am not alone
Taught to love my fellow man
This hate and war I don't understand
We may have different points of view
But that doesn't make me better than you
But because of all the troubles
We never get good press
The people are so friendly
For you they would do there best
If your in need of a hug there's
all ways some one who cares
I know bad things have happened here
but it was not our will
Our hearts are broken as we
watch our children suffer still
The years of war of loss and pain
We don't want them back again
They say we have peace in Ireland
But we have a long way to go
When we can laugh together as
we watch our children grow
In the midst of all the trouble
People just like me
on both sides of the border
Have been saying let us be
Stop all the hating
and fighting every man
And let us come together
and in peace shake hands
Now when this life is over
And we stand before the king
Our hearts will be examined
For no hate there we can bring
In heaven there are no borders
there is no orange or green
And we will all live together
In a land that so serene
