    the play

it needs to stop and just fade away
and take with it all my dreams of yesterday
    all my dreams you see
are just illusions of love and me

what I thought I felt was the beat of my heart
when all the while it was just bleeding apart
like some hero in a play
knowing it would soon just be a yesterday

it needs to stop and just fade away
and take with it all my hopes of yesterday
    all my hopes you see
are just illusions of love and me

the show is over and i bow alone
wanting so badly to rest upon my headstone
rake up the roses tossed for a show well done
and blanket my pale still heat like there was none

it needs to stop and just fade away
and take with it my pains of yesterday
    all my pains you see
are just illusions of love and me

I like the talent of rhyming poems, I wish to have that and thank you for being my inspiration.

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
