The innocent
Anger fills the souls around me.
Their hearts beat in unison.
All beat rapidly with each lash of the whip
They stir with anticipation
Why is the innocent being punished in the guiltys’ place?
Their souls consist of love and warmth. They are bright with color.
The innocent do not speak their objection.
Why is the innocent being punished in the guiltys’ place?
None speak a word.
This is unjust, they all yelling their minds
There is not a breath that isn’t still.
Once the punishment is done, all stand in silence as the guilty carry their crosses down the road.
Blood trails behind them, leaving their mark on the earth.
Ads all eyes study the wounds left from the whip, their anger turns to sorrow. All eyes begin to sparkle as tears flow down their cheeks.
Guilt has filled the solders.
Why is the innocent being punished in the guiltys place?
They die that day, the man says to god, “Forgive them for they know not what they do.”
The people cry out and scream, “Why is the innocent being punished in the guiltys place?”
