Poem Commentary

i wrote this when i was very tired! i had had a long day!

As the day comes to an end

The sky darkens as the sun sets off to bring light to others.
My body tells me its running out of energy.
Sleep will bring me dreams.
Some are happy and some are not.
I pray this night that i dream of the wonderful things to come.
I have done much in my day and now it is time to lay down and sleep.
Sleep is a wonderful thing. It brings peace and comfort.
As the day comes to an end the animals stop singing and start going to their homes.
The sky turns black and the stars come out to say hello.
All becomes silent. The silence causes me to forget about the days events.
The moon comes out to bring light to those who need it.
The warm covers over my body feels wonderful.
I could stay there for forever. They seem to just wrap around your body.
All are going to their beds to sleep.
The night brings many things into the light.
As the day comes to an end all slowly drift to sleep where they dream.
All is wonderful when the day comes to an end.
Peace comes.........

Emotionally Elemental. The night is at times more peaceful than the day. (The moon comes out to bring light to those who need it) - The moons meaning is mysterious to me. Perhaps the Creator had a unique reason for it. It -glows- instead of shines. And its glow does not peak until it is surrounded by darkness. And the darker it is, the more brighter it becomes. Intriguing to me. Anyway, this poem has a soft peaceful way to it, showing that the fight and the work is done. We rest to get back to it another day. Well written.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
