THE EDGE OF DARKNESS by christina Doelitzsch
You watch silently as the monsters of humanity climb out into the darkened catacombs of litter filled streets and despair.looking from a window that is barely visible you sit and stare at the world that has surrounded you.
voices that draw nearer you clutch the small doll hoping that they stop before reaching your door.
so small,
so innocent,
yet life has put you in a place of loss and pain.
why you wonder as you stare out once more into the cold night air has this life foresaken you so.
silently you step out onto the ledge for believing in fairytales is all that you really know.
Peter you call out....
come take me to never never land....
let me be your wendy.
You know that the fantasy though alive in your heart is not the reality you live...
You hear as the knobs on your door slowly turn and although bruises fade with time you cannot seem to forget the inner torment that lies within your small body.
If only peter pan was real? If only he could wisk me me away from this cold and cruel desolate place.
deep in thought...the door abruptly opens as you lose your grip on your cherished doll...
falling falling to the depths of the darkened street below.
silently you scream as you lose yourself in the depths of inner madness....
never to be reached again.
