thank you
As I watched with millions the swearing in of our frist black president I couldn't help but think of those who missed this historic event,
They paved the way for greatness they suffered for us to see.
An african american takeing the oath for office of presidancy.
But let us not forget the fight the lives lost for us to be.
Here today what we call struggling our ancestors called free
Look deep into the eyes of our elders in thier eyes you'll see relief.
Were only here because of our ancestors to greet a black commander and chief.
So thank you to those who survived, the slave ships the hangings and desrespect.
The back of the bus the white on black lust can we fixs what was incorrect.
They fought for our civil rights a fight still fought today.
An historical day for all americans still for my ancestors I pray.
I pray that they see closure that we've finished what they begun.
Were here because endured captivty being raped tortured and hung.
Today I'm proud to be an american I was here when history was made.
For my ancestors those painful memories of slavery may now begin to fade.
Still the dream is our ancestors legacy for them I celebrate.
The lives that were given in the name of freedom is what made that day so great.
So thank you to all the pioneers who endured all the pain and drama for us to be here and able to cheer for President Barack Obama
