Speaking Truth

Here me speak I am free to do so,

Standing on my feet for me and what I know,

For truth is not something that comes and goes,

It's just there in your head and expresses what you know,

Is people not use to spitting straight facts,

And the only time their confident is when there in big packs,

Afraid of losing, but still not winning,

Don’t really like her, but say “Hi” and be friendly,

100% percent, garbage dispensed,

Taking away my freedom I rather be lynched,

So please believe I mean what I say when I say it,

Cause expressing myself feels right,

Concepts in my head aren’t what you pick,

But I guess if I don’t agree it’ll start a big fight,

So here me speak I am free to do so,

Standing on my feet for me and what I know,

For truth is not something that comes and goes,

It's just there in your head and expresses what you know,

Life throws punches we’re jabbing and dodging,

Then it catches you and things get fogging,

Your vivid pictures of how you see things,

Somehow changes and just aren’t the same,

Now what you speak can’t be much realer,

As long as you speak loud for everyone to here,

When you go home look in the mirror,

Then speak your truth much loud and clearer,

So they can here you speak, your free to do so,

Standing on your feet for you and what you know,

For truth is not something that comes and goes,

It's just there in your head and expresses what you know.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
