Afraid?
Did you know I was afraid?
Of who, you say?
Of you!
You who’s me, who makes all the decisions,
You who’s me, who stray from religion,
Who search for good,
A quite bit hood,
Trying to do the right thing,
But sometimes feel like she’s dangling from a string,
Do the right thing,
You know who you are,
Or do I,
Do you,
Did you know I am afraid?
Of you? No, me.
Confident, spiritual women,
Don’t know if I am going or coming,
I guess I should fear nothing,
But I do,
I fear the unknowing,
Cause it is unshowing,
Did you know I am afraid?
And here I sit with dark gloomy clouds,
Afraid of the possibility of success,
To make me proud,
To progress,
Yet I am scared and stressed,
Did you know I was afraid?
Of sex, did that
Of driving, did that
Of school, did that
Of change, did that
Of love, did that
Did you know I was afraid?
But most of my fears I somehow overcame
