SEVEN SUMMITS: An Acrostic

Poem Commentary

Dick Bass climbed all of the seven summits, the highest mountain on each of the seven continents. This poem is a tribute to him and his indomitable spirit.

SEVEN SUMMITS: An Acrostic

A Tribute to Dick Bass who climbed all of the Seven Summits

Sky filled with brilliant stars making
Eternity almost palpable.
Vantage point from 29,028-feet reveals
Enigma of white-on-white where mutli-colored
Nepalese prayer flags appear foreign, out of place.
Stretching straining struggling striving
Until it's only you, a
Man against the mountain against the
Mountain against the man.
Indomitable spirit propels you forward
To take one more step, one big breath and
Shout, "Aah-eah-eaaahhh" from the highest of the Seven Summits.

Very nicely done Sherlock, interesting. I've never done an acrostic myself but enjoyed yours. Blessings, Whiskers.

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
