“Saved”

I ran I leaped over current events
I ran I leaped supported by a staggering fence
I ran I leaped I ran once more
I ran I leaped the signs I ignored

I ran I leaped and staggered this time
I ran I leaped and the victory was mine

I ran I leaped I felt untouchable
I ran I leaped and I stomped my big toe
I ran I leaped and still made it over
I ran I leaped and became arrogant as a mutha

I ran I leaped they watched my ego grow
I ran I leaped and still wanted more
I ran I leaped with a smile and a win
I ran I leaped protected by sin

I ran I leaped and down I fell
I ran I leaped but could not bare the pain
I ran I leaped and lost to the game

I woke up from my dream
Drenched in sweat on my knees I prayed
In silence I wept

Returning to bed
A soft voice spoke to me and said
Your sin are forgiven and now you can rest
Remember you are my child and you’re no less then blessed.

The message was abit hard to follow but for the most part the poem read ok. The flow was choppy but you could see where the whole message of the poem. Plot121

Thank you.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
