Recession
These days like whirlwinds from arctic breeze, terrorizing the steel of my nerves.
Her kiss nuch like a memory.... a distant whisper of what once was.
The sharp blade of my pride swinns dull at the beating words of insecurities.
While the shield of will shows the minute yet meaningful cracks of stress.
My sanity struggles with body to endure only this day, and conscious plays wicked games on mind.
The touch that once soothed all now seems weary of my pressence, smile used as a mask of assurance while invisible tears dry streakingly on pale cheeks.
A bold " I LOVE YOU " echoed by a cautioning reminder of times past.
Praying only that future be more than a re-run of an episode not forgotten nor a new series of drama.
While self pleads with forgivness, patience, and understanding,
No not me but I...mind, body, and tired soul.
Not me but I friend, lover, husband, protector.
Not me but I...... not I but US!
Mutual partners in the investment of life cosigning the title of marriage for as long as we never stop loving!
