    "My president is black"

They say with age comes wisdom, they say time heals all wounds. Now the time has come for some of our wounds to be healed. My president is black,he comes from the same ancestor all blacks come from. He represents change, wisdom, and power. He has the wisdom of a knight, his words are as powerful as a shield that protectsus blacks as a race. His courage stronger than the forbidden truth that lay deep beneath the dark ravishing society we live in today. My president represents America, and the belief that we as a people can change the world to become what it needs to be. My president is black, bold, and strong. My president represents the fight in the eye of the tiger, puting together miracles to change the world from this scary unforgiven monster that its been made into over centuries. My president is beautiful like the long black, thick, hair of our african ancestors. My president will bring change,he will make ways for my family kids,I & the world. When you see my president the first thing you see is his skin, but that does not matter. What matters is that he's trying to make a better place of change in this legacy. My president is black.

Mr Poetry87, I had to read your poem over and over and over again to understand some of those comments that you received, hey I understand you to the fullest, but it relates to my thinking in this life and time, which is first impression, it was your TITLE of the poem that threw them off, if they would have dug a bit deeper and read where you stated My President represents America and the belief that we as a people can change the world , they would have come to the conclusion that they were included too, and not just blacks, I'm with you brother Our President is black what a difference a day make:-) Don't change your Title, and don't change your mind, be happy our President is Black, he's white, and only God knows what other nationality if any his parents were mixed with, so you're not a racist and that's a fact. Nice poem 1 luv

Yes, my president is black too and he represents us all; no matter the party we belong to or the religion we belong to or whatever our skin's color may be. I too pray that he leads us to a place in history where we get to know and see what a peaceful coexistance is all about. I know that Obama shares this goal I speak of among other work that has to be done. Somehow, I feel a kinship with Obama, if I may be so bold as to say so. It seems to me that nothing daunts this young man and he speaks his intentions everyday via satellite; via local t.v; etc etc You see I have a feeling Obama knows the "secret of life" which is to believe in ones self and the bounty of positive thinking. Got a feeling he reads the same book I read too. Ah yes, he is strong but his heart and thoughts are gentle; and that is why I have good feelings about the future of this world. He is the first president that chaired a meeting at the U.N. And, believe me that was a better feat than the Nobel Prize he received last month (was it last month). And, he took the money and gave it to charity and he was very humble when it was given to him. Yep, I am pretty good at feeling good intuition vibes and Obama definitely sets of those vibes. Bless him and his wife and little girls, Amen. I agree when you say what matters is that he's trying to make a better place of change in this lifetime. Amen

I am an Indian American,Irish American,German American And Like a lot of people, may have some Black American,I don't know about..I was proud to see a Black American President. However,I don't believe in socialism so now His change doesn't appeal to me Race doesn't matter. The past was a time before my time.I had nothing to do with the hurt of the past generations. To judge someone,I look at the heart.color has no place

I understand what ur saying but that's not what I meant at all... I wrote it to express the way I feel about blacks as a whole generation... I'm expressing that I feel we finally made it and don't have to be judged by bad things we've done in the past. I wrote it to express the feelings of us blacks as a whole from the days of slavery, I'm saying that we've come a long way and we've finally made it..... That's all I'm saying... it has nothing to do with race i'm not a racist.... You just have to understand how I wrote it and where I'm coming from... And like alot of people who made the same comments on this poem about the same things you said don't understand how I wrote it or where I'm coming from.... That's okay tho... But I didn't write it to make other races mad I embrace all people I was expressing the feelings of one people in this one.... Feel me??? ;=)

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
