Provocative

Provocative heart
leave this lonely one alone.
Let me reside in the shadow
of my soul,
torn asunder

where innocence lay
in my memories of darkness

I thought you were compassion
and a mixture of spring,

Those things made of beauty
and of feeling...

so quickly you carried yourself to a place
of readiness...
I reminded you of a time,
a place which nothing or no one could heal.

My heart was yours true,
my strength I gave to you.
Please give me back my life and my love so I may
continue to see the flowers and the sea and the trees.
I want to climb the mountains and
live in beauty.

treacherous heart, leave this
one to grieve
upon a sea of tears...

What I thought was forever is now
a passing ember

Time will not pass fast enough... So we beg; and often, shamelessly plead with our aching heart to just let us rest.. Give us peace... Set our spirit free again of the agony and torment... Losing something that once meant the whole world, is always very, very costly on a soul... Good write...

wow! haunting, beautiful ...a prayer for mercy. I know how it feels to give it away and then try to live with the loss. I love the way this is written. 10

Dang it all Charles, she ditched you, but you can stil paint her from memory. And it's up to you to title that little piece.

Yes, your right Harver, I must title it and move past it...thank you.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
