    Phoenix Rising

    My heart beats to a rhythm
    In time with Nature's call
    I feel the blood race through me
    As the rush of a waterfall.
    The kaleidoscopic colors
    Burst behind my eyes
    Blinding me with fragments
    This phoenix shall arise.
    Every nerve is crying out
    As the pressure slowly builds
    Excitement running through me
    Begging to be fulfilled.
    My soul binds it all together
    And it's calling out to you
    To join me in sensations
    Beyond the world you knew.

    you've a gift for perfect rhythm...this just flows and I love the imagery....if you get a chance I've also written on this theme...RISING...and this is another 10

    Wonderful imagery and I enjoyed how you created anticipation. The pacing was nice, the only difficulty is the 4th line: As the rush of a waterfall The 8 syllables or beats threw it off a bit. 6 or 7 works better. Example: Like a raging waterfall (or 'rushing') Again, good work and I look forward to reading more of your poetry - Anthony

    Thank you antman488 for you advice. You are right. I will watch myself next time...lol. I have 2 others posted, let me know what you think.
