    Penny a Pound

    Just one night a year

    remember me

    this heart, now bankrupt

    is all you'll see.

    Your heart, turned to frost

    fed my addiction

    a penny a pound

    my road to perdition.

    Take heart young one

    do not grieve

    I'm no longer alive

    but still I breath.

    Broken and alone

    emptiness fills my days

    no longer seeking light

    I've lost my way.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
