    Our Love

    As I set here, I think about your smile;
    I think of when we talked awhile;
    My thoughts race back to a time long ago:
    A time when my heart loved you so...
    The years went by when we lost touch;
    Years when I missed you so very much;
    Then fate brings our love face to face again
    Our love that goes forever and has no end...
    Longing for the time our lips can meet;
    Rekindled love that felt so sweet:
    We knew it would be wrong for us to be together;
    All along wishing our parting would come never...
    Now all to soon we have to part;
    Once again this breaks my heart:
    Our love will never be together,
    For our life's be joined by another...
    Again I sit and start to cry;
    Eyes filled with pain from another good-bye.
    Years it has taken for us to see,
    Our love is just not meant to be...
    It's time we face up to being apart
    So we keep our love locked safe with in our hearts...

    Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
