    If They Could See

    If they could only see,
What is really going on inside of me.
    Would it even matter,
That my life is about to shatter...

    Why am I this way?
    I can not say today.
    For they are the ones,
That made me feel this way...

    My heart has been broken,
    It holds no token,
Not even a nickel or a dime,
This hurt;  Has got to stay behind...

    One thing is certain,
When they draw the final curtain,
    Then they all will see,
Just exactly what all they done to me...

    Now I must go,
    For I just might blow,
    Who? you ask.
    They already know...

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
