Poem Commentary

This is a call to my Christianity. Sometimes we know we are doing the wrong thing, but we find it hard to stop doing it. We know we are in fault and we know that we can change it, but sometimes we don't. We can also see that this world is messed up and people value things that are really not that important over other people's lives...

Off-road

when I look inside myself
and the shadows that invade me
I can only hope to hear
distant chants from somewhere near me
is that your voice?
is that you calling?
is that your light,
that vanished all dark things within me?
and the echoes of my sight
are like dark and fuzzy green spots
in my solitude inside
that is growing like a soundwave
is that your voice?
are you still calling?
is that your light,
that wants to show me a better place?
is that your word?
the one they're following?
are they aware
of the purgatory that this is?
is that your voice
the one they're following
are they aware
of the purgatory that this is?
when I look inside myself
and the shadows that invade me
I can only hope to hear
distant chants from somewhere near me

Thought provoking ,I like this very much ,keep writing more. Sometimes we do not like to face the real us.

Poetry comes nearer to vital truth than history.
