    Now

    Accept it
    Not for a future wish
    And not from a memory
    Greet this opportunity

    Sense it
    Warm in the bright sun
    Cool on the brisk wind
    Feel the emotion

    Taste it
    Sweet as pure water
    Savory as a fine meal
    Imbibe the flavor

    Smell it
    Perfume of a flower
    Fragrant in the fresh air
    Scent the aroma

    Touch it
    Tender as a soft caress
    Cradled in strong arms
    Grasp the being

    Hear it
    Laughter of an open heart
    Peace within the silence
    Listen to the voice

    See it
    Light amidst a trillion stars
    Transparent as a raindrop
    Gaze at the image

    Know it
    Simple as one thought
    Open to all possibility
    Ponder the idea

    Experience it
    Not by whence it came
And not for where it goes
    Exist in this moment

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
