Dawn

Dawn

The day will soon burn away
And we will sleep
But a harvest in the dark
Our souls will reap

At dawn we wake to find
A brand new light
All the pain of yesterday
Gone with the night

So much we seek the world
But have no need
Our true heart holds the key
We pay no heed

We need only look within
To find our place
We need only look about
To know its grace

Thus we find our harmony
From where we grew
To share the solemn secret
Our souls knew

Great work in words! You have a great sense of rhythm and rhyme. thanks for sharing your skills aptly!

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
