Nature of the Beast
I have felt the sufferings of death
And marveled at the miracle of birth
I have loved and lost
I've paid the cost
For selling my self-worth
I have praised God
And cursed his name
I've had prodigious thoughts
Been called insane
I've been thought of as a hero
And I've trembled like a coward
I've broke bread with the rich
Had days I never showered
I've gone to bed a hungry man
And awakened to a feast
For life is neither good or bad
Its just the nature of the beast
And marveled at the miracle of birth
I have loved and lost
I've paid the cost
For selling my self-worth
I have praised God
And cursed his name
I've had prodigious thoughts
Been called insane
I've been thought of as a hero
And I've trembled like a coward
I've broke bread with the rich
Had days I never showered
I've gone to bed a hungry man
And awakened to a feast
For life is neither good or bad
Its just the nature of the beast
