Naivete

Am I blinded by this
again and again?

Do I know who to trust
or who is my friend?

There's a time I was blind
and I couldn't see.

Now, I truly believe
I am not naive.

What is the severity
of my naivete?

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
