My Son Adam
Adam came into the world in quite a rush,
which made me feel all nervous and flush!
He was also as hungry as he could be,
So he began life nursing in the delivery!
But I was soon to find out that he was so strong,
As he had so many hard obsticles to just belong!
I feel I named him right for what his life was to be,
For the first Adam had much to deal with you see!
Adam was such a happy baby and a bundle of joy,
He would amuse himself with his hands or just a toy!
But when he hit the terrible twos the days were long!
Believe me then I had to be the one who was strong!
The threes and fours and five weren't much better!
I could tell so much but then this would be a letter!
To say the least it was hard to scramble and chase,
But I had to keep up with Adam to keep him safe!
He really never met a stranger at all and just loved to talk,
Which he was determined to do as soon as he could walk!
At the age of two Adam could climb to the top of a fence,
And at three he thought he could drive which made no sense!
But as for me I know Adam was made for so much great,
All his teachers would brag about how smart he was by eight!
I believe Adam is stronger and smarter than he wants us to know,
He just doesn't want us to bug him to do great or let it show!
In life there was so much danger and so many fears,
through all of hardship and all the pain through the years!
We had many good times and hard days I must say,
But I would not give up one single minute or one day!
