    My Love

When I first laid eyes on you
I knew it was all too good to be true
I am at a loss what else can I say, what else can I do

How else may I profess this compelling feeling
Transforming me into an uncontrollable being
While it is my facade you insist on peeling

I knew from the beginning this would be a trying tribulation
Now I wish this could have been a meaningless infatuation
That would at least deflate this intensifying situation

Then again I could leave without so much as one regret
While I am gone please do not fuss and fret
You would be another one I may never forget

Your inner beauty grasps my heart
As your inconsideration tears it apart
For I can either be sweet or very tart

This is my love for you
Is love something you never knew?
Do you feel the same as I do towards you?

Last night I sent you my angel
I know now love is the reason you fell
    In time shall tell

Tell if you choose to deal
Whether or not you will be able to heal
    Hopefully before your last meal

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
