MY LITTLE CHRISTMAS PACKAGE
MY LITTLE CHRISTMAS PACKAGE
Just for now—
I want to dream
Shamelessly now—
I also want to scream
No facts to find; no situational crisis
Once in a while it just makes me feel good inside
And if that’s too hard for you to fathom a thought
Then, please, condemn me to that place that just makes me
Whine & whimper in my mind
You know—that place we all dread
And it’s said, “to each is own”—because one’s perception is completely subjective; for “that place” that only exists in one’s head.
Just for now—
I want out of this nightmare!
I’m dwelling in that place again—
Even though the doctors said not to—
Because of all the dreamers it might scare!
The Red gives off a pretty aroma—
And the Black—for it can be just the same
The Yellows fear the White; and the Green stands to fight
There is one in pure segregation; for it’s the Blues that intrigue me as the Black does the night
I believe it’s the Blues that go unspoken; but surely it can’t be me—
The one who must choose?
For my color-blindness puts me at an advantageous disadvantage
As it constructs many oxymoron & delivers them as tiny Christmas Packages
So, just for now…I will slowly fall fast-asleep
And no matter where I awake—I’ll take this along—for this message I will keep
