My Feet On The Ground
I tried to let the walls down
But something told me it was too soon
Thank God I listened because you turned out to be
Just another man singing the same old tune
You tried to say you were different but
Something told me not to let you all the way in
And now I get the speech we should be just friends
One day you love me, the next it is someone new
Thank God I am old enough to see the game and
Able to see right through you
Words are just words unless you are man enough
To make them more
I smiled and waved good-bye as you headed towards the door
I’m not like the others I can see the game you play
Go back to the young ones and I’m sure they will surrender and
Give you your own way
When you get scared and run from this one too
Take a good long hard look and
Don’t blame the girl cause baby it’s all you
When you grow up and want a real woman one who knows what she
Wants and where she wants to be
Good luck finding her, because it won’t be me
I’m so thankful my head is not in the clouds and
I didn’t fall this time around
No pain, no tears, I think I have finally got my
Feet on the ground
