My Angel In Heaven

My Angel In Heaven

I was asleep when the call came,

I knew at that moment nothing would ever be the same

The tears began to flow, as I pictured her lying there,

I knew her death was something I couldn’t bare

She was the one, who never let me down,

Whenever I needed her she was always around

She made me laugh, she brightened my days,

When I was little she showed me the way

She was the woman I wanted to be,

Oh Lord why did you take her, I’m not ready for her to leave

She touched so many and gave them her heart,

I still feel her there while I’m lying in the dark

I can’t see her or hear her, but I know she’s looking down on me,

Up in heaven, the prettiest angel my Grandma will be.

I feel your pain and lost. Some grandma's are Angel's who are earth bound for a while, and then they have to go back home. Not to worry, she is waiting with open arms for you, just like my mom and nanna are waiting for me. Your poem is lovely. Be encourage to write more.

Thank you so much!

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
