MASTER OF TALENTS

MASTER OF TALENTS

Jesus I want to write a poem on you,

But words won’t flow what can I do ?

You’re Great, Wonderful & Majestic too!

In the entire world, there is no one like you.

You’re the Greatest God I ever know,

I’m the littlest person on this earth below.

You don’t see me that way, ‘cause you’re so full of love,

You think me special as you look down from above.

I’m nothing to think of, Lord on this earth

Yet, you knew me before my birth.

What kind of greatness, Lord can this be?

Before my parents could think, you thought of me.

My parents did love me, this I cannot deny,

You love me more, and for me you did die.

My parents love I count by the day,

But your love is there, come what may.

My friends cheer me for an hour or so,

But you dear Lord, wherever I go.

When there’s sunshine, friends smile and cheer,

But when there’s raindrops, only you stand near.

Poems I’ve written on friends and loved ones too,

But the Master of talents I neglected you.

While writing this poem I feel content,

While I write this poem I now repent.

You are my Master of Wisdom and Knowledge,

Since you are my Master I don’t need a college.

Colleges are meant only for a few,

Not for those whom you long foreknew.

The world’s wisdom is measured by the world,

But your wisdom is measured by your Word.

A man without wisdom is rated as “zero”

Yet, in your Word he’s rated as “hero.”

You count not a man by the number of his falls,

Rather you count him, by the number of his calls.

You pick him up each time he falls,

You answer him each time he calls

Your characteristic is so special & peculiar too,

How I wish I could be like you.

At times I try my level best,

It’s just there that I fail the test.

Many times I tried this poem to write,

As you say, Lord, it’s neither by power nor by might.

If today Lord, my poem is complete,

It’s the power of your Word and your Holy Spirit.

Sounds like someone found their way home. Great poem. Jesus' unconditional love is hard to comprehend. As I say this I mean through Jesus' Christ our LORD. I guess I am still trying to find my way. Thank You for the poetry

Thank you.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
