Poem Commentary

Wrote it up after watching the episode of Family Guy where Morgan Freeman did "The Narrator" and said "Like a Twinkie, Like a Twinkie," and I thought "RAP SONG!"

Like a Twinkie

I love Twinkies like women:
Golden and sweet.
Only difference between 'em
Is Twinkies: you can eat.

I love my mouth
Even more with Twinkies in it.
They're gold and delicious
I just wanna eat it.

And you've got another thing comin'
If you think I'll eat any old somethin'.
That means keep your Ho-Ho's
And your Cupcakes,
'Cause I'd rather have Twinkies
Any hour of the day.

Now, Twinkies get ROCK HARD
When they grow old,
But that never happens
With me on pantry patrol.

When I see an empty box,
My mind says, "Jinkeys!"
Man, I wish the whole world was just
Like a Twinkie.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
