Life Worth Living

Blades of grass blowing in the wind

Flowers blooming to the morning light

Fruit ripening from a hanging branch

Nature: breathtaking with the finest beauty

But a life worth living is more than that

It is hope for the distraught, grace for the sinner

Help for the needy, comfort for the broken

Wisdom for the fool, love for all

A life worth living is adventure at its peak

Passion burning like a forest fire

Honesty pure as freshly fallen snow

Kindness gentle as a warm Spring breeze

Yes, a life worth living is the essence of balminess

Kisses brushed on a lover’s lips

Words whispered in a child’s ear

Smiles united softly amongst friends

A life worth living is uttermost experience

The fallen man’s second chance

The corrupt woman’s choice to change

Walls torn down, bridges built, treaty restored

Yes, a life worth living sooths the soul

A marriage built upon Christ’s foundation

Children accepting discipline, learning responsibility

Friendships forever enduring life together

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
