Life Interrupted

Life Interrupted

Voices screaming,yelling

Personalities ripping,tearing

Emotional reckage destroying

Dismanteling a heart that's breaking

Thorns of scenes past

Breaking through the minds skin

Abruptly,harshly,fast

So much darkness,so much pain

That deep within lies a victim slain

You look in the mirror

And all you see

Is a life disturbed

A life interrupted

And so now you bring to surface

To face off with your demons

Demons that ripped at the seams

Seams of your very soul

Left you bleeding,dieing,and cold

You take the thorns

From your own heart

Bury them deep within

That mask of old

Slicing,ripping,tearing it apart

Breaking the chains

Chains of a tattered life

Disturbing the silence

You once consoled yourself in

Voices screaming,yelling

Personalities ripping,tearing

This is the picture painted

Of a life disturbed

A life interrupted

A life broken

A life mended

A life interrupted

No more.

This is honest and gutwrenching, flavored deep with a tangible aura of hope and realization. I read many, many poets in this site, but very few have your capacity for honesty and style, and a clear love for words. This is an easy 10. You should be proud of your poetic talents.

Thanks for all the comments on my poetry ,I am a survivor of Domestic Violence and the words I write are the pain and the joy,the misery and the sunshine, the tears and the shame of what I went through it means a lot to know that someone out there likes the work I do when I write,I am actually thinking of putting all of my poems into a book and getting them published. What do you think??

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
