Let's Never Forget
Dear
You helped me through
My new-ness
Freshman year
You and your crazy hair
And I helped you date
And break up with
Jesse
Even though I
Liked him too
Ridiculous I know
But I wanted you to like me
Then new years
Hanging out with you
And Nick
Watching reruns of Naruto
Talking to Nick while you slept
Thinking how awesome it was
That we were already cool enough
With each other that
You acted normal
Well normal for you
Around me
Walking around your house
In baggy Pj's
And bed hair
That you always said
Looked like I'd been having sex
Sitting on your kitchen counter
Eating brownie mix out of the bowl
Outruling Nick with movie picking
And drinking so much orange soda
That we would get sick
Sleepovers are different now
We're all older
Nick is cuter
And he makes me feel uncomfortable
Sorry that kind of killed it
But sometimes
When Nick is at a friends
We revert
To the awesome old days
And have so much fun
That I wish that high school
Really wouldn't ever end
Because everything I know
Is centered around this school
This group of friends
I have friends other places
But never any that were as
Amazing as all of you
And you introduced them to me
You were there through everything
You and your
Seven hundred million hair colors
And your crazy clothes
That made me dare
To be different
And to try new things
All those theater trips
Eating sushi
At that tiny little restaraunt
And pining over the guys in my group
You have enhanced my life
Even when we fight
Which is becoming less frequent
Everything always works out in the end
And now
I'm scared
Because you won't be there
You'll be off making
Pastries
And decorating cakes
And I'll be off
Exploring the world
And I'm so scared that
I'll lose touch
Scared that
If I blink for one second
High School will have been
A meaningless waste of time
I'll blink just once
And everything
Summer mix
World War One Project
Hair Dye
Orange soda and cheese chips
Dream discussions
Crazy alien interferance phone calls
Homecoming
Prom
Improv Festival
Sister candles
Scarf lampshades
Harvey
And everything else
Will dissappear in a haze
Of work and future
And new lives
Families
Husbands
New friends
And I don't want that to happen
But even if it does
I want to thank you
For being you
For changing me for the better
And just for being
Please know
That
I
Love
You
And that right now
I'm summer mixing it up
You helped me through
My new-ness
