    Let Me Cry

I’ve walked a million miles in the shoes of the unfaithful

Because I am still searching for something to believe in

I’m just trying to be free

Free from the illusions and the confusion

That fall like quiet rain in the midnight hour

    While we sleep

    Eyes wide open

    We sleep

Watch the rain fall and call it by a different name

Not knowing this is just a dream

It makes my heart want to scream

But instead the sound of my aching

Forms tiny streams of crystal droplets that bleed

    Hot salty tears

    I cry

    Please, just let me cry

    Let me cry for

    Peace

You can not always hold it in. Some times all it takes is a very Good Cry! Beautifully written!

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
