    I’m Sorry

I’m sorry for the way I’ve acted, things I’ve done, things I’ve said
But when the world looks the other way, it makes it hard to get ahead
I know that in the past few years, I’ve caused you lots of pain
I never really intended to, because really what’s to gain?

I will love you all my life, through good times and through bad
I know I’ve hurt you many times, and that’s what makes me sad
I try my best to be a good man, through all the things I do
But all that I keep hearing, is how much that I’ve hurt you

All that I ever wanted, was to have a real good life
I thought it would be easy, with you as my loving wife
When I think about my love for you, it makes me want to cry
When I think about you being gone, it makes me want to die

You are the woman I’ll always love; this much I know is true
I can’t imagine living my life, in a world that doesn’t contain you
You are the most beautiful woman that I have ever known
I’m sorry for not showing you, the things I should have shown

I tried to show you things in life that you’ve never known
Now I sit here by myself, and feel so all alone
All the trials in my life, have really gotten me down
It’s all so overwhelming, I feel like I might drown

You are all that matters to me, I’ll love you till I die
And every time I think of you, all I can do is cry
I swore to God I would cherish you till the end of days
And I would never tell a lie because it never pays

The romantic in me says she does. We all carry something.

    I wonder if she knows.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
