His Name

“HIS NAME”
The birth had come with light from a star
The people rejoicing from near and afar
This savior was holy, he came to spread love
Sent to bring joy about the “most high” above
He walked his path, with tidings to heal
To whoever would listen, their sins he’d soon kill
His journey was dedicated in love for the father
For some followed him, but others didn’t bother

His walk was pure, it was never in strife
“He said” “I am the way, the truth and the life”
Now this messiah knew, his time was drawing near
His death would be cruel, but he stood without fear
They tortured and shamed him, nailed to a cross
When his people saw, they mourned this great loss
The people were sad and deeply did grieve
Little did they know, that he would never leave

Now this story has touched too many to count
Built for him churches, even the highest mount
His name is the greatest one of them all
If you’re in trouble, on him you can call
So if you feel lonely, sorrow or sad
Lift your head up and always be glad
His name is no hoax, no prank, nor a heist
This anointed, holy one, his name “Jesus Christ”

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
