Happiness

Happiness

I like myself just the way I am, and I'm happy
No, wait a minute, I could stand to lose a few pounds
Then I'd be happy
Then again, if I had more money to pay off my debts
I'd be even happier and life would be great
But then again, if my family could all just get along
I'd just be so happy that I'd have a permanent grin
However if all the countries of the world could live in peace
Everything in my life would be perfectly happy

Scratch all the above...except for one thing:
I like myself just the way I am, and I'm happy.

This is my favorite. Don't know how many times I have thought this same thing. I've learned to like myself just the way I am, And I'm happy , too. :) TS

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
