    Happily Ever After

    We use to dream
Of a life full of laughter.
To the Gods we would scream
Begging for a happily ever after.

    Neither of us knowing
That a time would soon arrive
    And you would be going
    Leaving me struggling to survive.

    The tears I've cried
The nights I whispered your name.
Feeling as tho I had died
Knowing I'd never be the same.

And now you're in another's arms
    All thoughts of us forgotten.
    Lost in her manipulative charms.
    Her lies far beyond rotten.

    Yet here I stand
    Still waiting for your return.
With your ring upon my hand
Praying that I wont be the one to burn.

Of you I continue to dream
    About our life of laughter.
For you I continue to scream
Pleading for our happily ever after.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
