FRIENDSHIP LOST

FRIENDSHIP LOST

I woke up one morning to find
My life, my friends left me behind
Carring a weight I can hardly bear
Stumbling in shadows of despair

How come nobody told me about this
Everyone has suddenly moved on
I didn't see it coming so fast
But now I know friendships never really last

Opening my heart to other things
No one knows what I'm feeling
Pain and regret I let let anyone in
Betrayel and denial of things I've once said

Dare I speak again
It's like non is listening
Scar'd over friendships long lost
When all you really have is who you are

Sitting here with pen in hand
No one to write to no friend, no man
Trying to figure what went wrong
I can't, but I just have to move on

I enjoyed this poem very much, thank you allowing me to read your work..................................

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
