    For Endless Joy

This holed heart of mine is yours to darn
And not to damn; it is then made whole.
Knit my heart to yours, and smooth its purl
That your heart and mine be one till death.

Calm my anxious nerves with winsome smiles
And my thudding heart will reign in peace
For a wry smile writes peace off the heart
Causing the blood to flow but astir.

Let your song, like mine, be that of love--
Your mind, tied to mine; and mine, to yours
Your joy, placed in mine; and mine, in yours
And our life will be an endless joy

I love the rhythm of this poem and the heartfelt emotion that lies beneath. The last stanza is awesome!

This is nice. It makes you feel humble inside and very loved

this is a very nice write.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
