Empty Eden

Empty Eden

Alone in the darkness, softly crying
There is no hope, I'm slowly dying
Alcohol fumes haze the air
Like daddy said I'm going nowhere
Through an empty life I struggle
Love and money I try to juggle
The depression returns, no need to fight
I thought I'd finally stepped into the light
Love for friends and family, hate for me
I stand revealed for them to see
No matter how hard I try feelings are not returned
My life again lies blackened and burned
A bottle of vodka, sleeping pills, dream away
Finally at peace the Empty One greets the day
While his Eden lies untouched

Forget Daddy, your life is now about you and what you think. Get in there and find out what is wanting to come forth.

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
