Cats and Tails

Cats and Tails

What is this thing
upon my butt,
that swishes to and fro?

I see it there
behind me, and it
excites me so.

I grab it and I pull it,
but dislodge it
I cannot.

With me it stays
forever,
tormenting me a lot.

I sneak up quietly on it,
with stealth,
I track it down.

Get rid of it
I never do,
it always hangs around.

Resigned I guess,
I must become,
until a cure I find.

For decorations
on my butt
and things on my behind.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
