    Breaking Free

Press firmly on the lever to fill her full of air

My giant, grand cabana is flopping everywhere

The yarn is tethered tightly to loops of metal rings

The rings are interwoven with twisted fabric strings

The rolling, silky billows and wetted satin sheen,

The dancing undercover from scenes of La Boheme

The lauded sounds and twirling rise circled in the air

Trapped only by the canopy hung under starry stare

A massive form of roundness jumps up to full balloon

The looming of the loom reaches skyward only soon

It tugs at lanyard’s lashings firmly staked into the ground

The highest peak can see her near up around the clouds

Now she floats up freely gliding high on whispered streams

The rising so exciting when breaking tether free

The looking back is rueful when looking to beyond

The coming back is careful when wind is going yon

And here she comes from heaven a gently gliding seam

Her silken woven cover shines bluish shades of green

The landing like on cotton, a quiet coming home

The firmness of the planet a welcome from the roam

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

    Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
