    Beauty

She waltzes into a room like she is walking on air
    So light on her feet
Eyes so blue, her hair glimmering, her skin so fair
Is it me she is wanting to meet?
Her gaze roves here and there
Her attention is captured by many men
I wonder if she may be aware
    Of just how taken
    I am with her presence
How could she possibly miss the glance or two
    Her confidence
Lets her hide her emotions through and through
I want to reach out to touch her, to ask her for a kiss
But I know this isnt the time or place
There is too much noise, too much distraction
    To embrace
    Her with my overwhelming attraction
I fear she may reject my advances
    That she may pull away
So I will take my chances
    Perhaps another day
I will bide my time for now
Wait until she has had her fun
    Then let her know somehow
    I am the one

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
