    AT the Crossroads

    “ At the Crossroads”

There is an outside that your eyes can see
The inside hides what you don’t want to believe
We all have souls but there are some that get lost
Some are found but so many have the highest of costs
When do you know when you have lost your sight?
When your ears go deaf and your eyes have restless nights
That is your heart telling you something is missing
Ignored by many when it knows your not listening
How to get back to the being you once were
You pay attention when half your life is a blur
Years go by and memories start to fade away
You wake up alone and feel empty every day
There is no where to turn you have spent your last dime
No magic is left and good times are hard to find
It’s always easy to turn and run the other way
Fearing the night due to the dawn of another day
Back to the start of all that has gone wrong
You find no answers in anyone’s songs
Alone is how you feel and eats at your pride
Thoughts get trapped on how you want to die
Stay strong you say just to push the pain back
Wishing you had a double to help with your slack
But it’s not true no one will come to your aide
Thought you had friends, well you just got played

That’s how it goes in the world of today
You make your path that you must play
Try to step weak and you will fail
Ignore your heart and you will bail
    Selfish acts never go unnoticed
Do yourself a favor and don’t do this

As low as you feel there is always a way
Don’t give me that shit you know you can stay
No one has all the answers that is called life
Think of your kids and even your wife
What will they do when they are all alone?
No one to talk to on the other end of the phone
How will you look when you are all gone?
Thought it was the right one when it was truly wrong
You do have a friend and they really care for you
Stop being selfish they have lives too
So they don’t come calling like they did back when
They won’t be able to call if you make it the end
Take a step back and let us focus on the truth
You love to live and you are missing your youth
Age is a number that will come to us all
You do this now your number will stall
Do you have anything you ever wished you did?
Will you miss your wife or kissing your kids?
Who will be there when they need to ask questions?
Come lost soul let me help you across this intersection
We can walk for days if you will give me the time
Understand in your heart you will always be a friend of mine

That’s how it goes in the world of today
You make your path that you must play
Try to step weak and you will fail
Ignore your heart and you will bail
    Selfish acts never go unnoticed
Do yourself a favor and don’t do this

These are my words and I do mean them dearly
People do care and I hope you see this clearly
We all have our moments when we feel we can’t go on
It helps no one if you are already gone
That is my view of your unclear vision
Hope you opened your mind and started to listen
When you feel once again that you are starting to fall
I am always ready to talk so give me a call………………..

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
